This isn't really a site issue but just a general question. Is there a way to find where the origin of a picture that is an attachment in a thread?

Err, interesting question. I'd start by right clicking and copying link location to start. Have a specific thread in ind?

I'm having an arguement with someone on another site and they posted up a picture. The link should the site but I wanted to know if there was a way to find out where it came from before that. I guess not. It was worth a try.

Ok I understand now. Yes, when a user attaches a pic, they are uploading from their "remote" machine to the server. The pic then resides on that server hosting the forum. I thought you meant exactly where on the site. N

NOW, all is not lost. Download the photo, get properties and go advanced (PC), Mac has a similar procedure. Someone, may have inserted lots of meta data about when and where the photo was taken, etc., but it's a little bit of a long shot.
