Default Shortage of Ford Mavericks?

I've been searching high and low for a 68-72 Ford Maverick but i can't find any in LA, OC, SD, IE, SF, WA, OR. In total there are about 20 for sale in all those areas and states. I personally like the look but i heard that most were junked because the lack of interest in them. The only one I've seen that interested me and was close was in in Ontario, California, and it runs, has new interior but it's a 4 door, and he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

But when i do find them, they go on the cheap for like 500 bucks or so. Does anyone know where i can get one, or has anyone seen any around?

I've seen very few over the years. One of the tool dealers had a dark blue GT with black BBS type wheels..looked good. This site has some info and a classified section..http://maverick.to/index.php

Cool I'm going to have to look at those sites when i get home. I asked around and i heard that a good number of them were junked when cash for clunkers came around :/ I'm hoping i can find one for a decent price still. I really wanna do a 302 EFI and T5 Swap with the 8.8 rear end from a turbo coupe w disk brakes.

Funny. There was one around the corner from me in Fullerton for years. I think it's gone now.
