Default XJ 4.0L Driveline Pull

My friend wrecked his XJ, so today I pulled the driveline out of it for the YJ. Plan to rebuild it, port the head, and install a bigger cam.

The driveline measures 7 feet, transfer case to timing cover, can anyone beat that? Pulling it out was definitely an adventure.

Sounds like fun. At one point I was thinking to do a heads and cam 4L on the Jeep. They can be pretty cool.

Ya theyre pretty stout motors, people seem to get 350K miles out of them. And 225 ft lbs in stock form is a'ight for a rock crawler.

I read on Allpar that they were a copy of the 2.5 AMC design, plus two cylinders. Which is probably why the front of the motor looks identical.
