I thought you were just thinking about being a cop to become an official DT instructor someday. 
I do feel sorry for the good cops (yes, they exist) who enter law enforcement to actually "protect and serve". I have no problem with the proper function of police. I have a big problem with the way we organize and fund police. The incentives are all lined up to abusing the public for non-crimes as much as anything. Throw in jerks on a power trip and it just sucks. Doug Marianni and at least one other guy on here were long time POs and they're great guys. In my ideal world, I'd be happy to pay a fee to the Doug Mariani Police to protect my property/neighborhood, etc. This is a whole other discussion.

Just be a good cop, protecting the weak, and not lording your power over your (occasionally reluctant) employers and it's cool. If I'm successful with my anarchist revolution (peaceful, I'm not a bomb chucker  ) , I'll help you start your own police company.

Not quite like that. There needs to be considerably more separation between the establishment of law (legal theory), interpretation of law (judges/arbiters), and enforcement of law. If you want to a wear a cod piece though, we could probably work something out.

Yes. It was a little unclear. The ticket indicated $108 + $10 for the processing. When going to the station to get it cleared (I wasn't there) they said to send in the $10 for processing. Maybe because it was done within some time window.

I just got another ticket on the Cobra for no front license plate. It's a $78 fine or $10 if I go and get it signed off. On the ticket it shows that expired tags ($78) is also a fix-it ticket that is only $10 if it is signed off as is expired registration ($104). I just have to go to the local police station to have it signed off and I pay them the $10 then. At least that's the way they do it here in Fontana.

same here in Covina, i get a no front license plate ticket, i put it back on, get it signed off, then take it off. Very simple, its more worth it to pay the $10 every time than it is to have a front plate |
