Default Adams Motorsports Park + 300 UTQG Tires + 490rwtq = FUN!

I decided to take the Cobra to AMP just to have some fun. I knew I wouldn't be fast since I only had my street tires and Autozone Gold brake pads but I also know I would have some fun.

In the first session I ran two 49's which was a lot faster than I thought I was going to do since they were having a Miata event and most of them were running between 46-48 on NT01's. The quickest one ran a 44 which was also the quickest car there.

After I ran the first session I noticed a little smoke coming from under my hood and when I checked it it looked like a little bit of oil was on the header where the oil dipstick passes it. I wiped it down and a little while later went out for the second session. I didn't get to make a complete run because a 350Z spun and hit the tire wall during the first timed run and another car hit a tire wall on the second timed run.

When I pulled into the pits I noticed the smoke again so I opened the hood and saw that the spark plug wire near the oil dipstick tube was on fire. So I blew it out and let the car cool down. After it cooled down I pulled the plug wire off and drove it home on 7 cylinders.

I think he tube has a hole in it right at the header which caused it all so I'll take a look at it this Saturday.

Here's a video of part of the second session.

You're at 490RWTQ now? Missed that part somewhere. Yikes. What's the diff in that thing?

It's making 100rwtq more than it did before when you rode in it. You can really feel that extra power. I need to get some tires that will hold it along with a clutch that will as well and then see what times I can run at AMP. Along with real brake pads as well.

I'd be curious too. Not sure the extra power would would turn into a whole lot of extra time on that tiny track, but something for sure.

I would agree if I planned to run the same 245/45/17 tire that I ran when you went with me but I'm going to 315/35/17 in the back and a 275/40/17 in the front. I'm also going to be adding more negative camber which should help with the understeer I have now.

I have a Spec Stage 2+ 10 spline only I'm using a McLeod disk because the Spec one broke. When I replace the clutch I'll probably go with the Stage 3+.

With a 3.55 gear and 5800 redline I can only get to about 60 in 2nd so I use 2nd and 3rd on this track.
