Default Intake Progress

Well since i have some time till i get everything together for the engine and me liking shit to be complicated I started to powder coat my intake wrinkle finish black using all my own equipment in the shop. I must also give notice and thanks to my wonderful lady for staying late at the shop with me and helping instead of bitching like she could/should have.

So far these are the only pics I have, my camera was dieing so the quality dropped off alot but I am very happy with the results, i'll take better ones after i finish the upper and clearing the PC off the letters on the lower.

Start

After Stripping and sanding the letters smooth since the castings are bullshit
Lower isnt pictured cause it was already bare, but i do have some pics on my phone

After coating and removing most of the tape and replacing the made in USA badge

I still don't see how those upper intake manifolds flow good. The air goes in one direction, then turns around and goes back in the other direction.

Looks good though. Did you paint the upper to match the lower?

Boost, because sometimes atmospheric pressure just isn't enough.

They are not designed to flow high numbers. They are designed for midrange power which is why they have those long runners. Think of this without the fuel puddling issues.

Edelbrock makes a short runner Victor intake but it is designed for 4000-8000 rpms. Where the RPM II is designed for 1500-6500 rpms.

They also make upper box style intakes that are also designed for 4000-8000 rpms.

Alright, todays works, for the most part the upper came out great except for the REALLY fine creases near the letters of "Edelbrock" Nothing a sharpie wont hide. For the most part i am VERY pleased with how it looks considering its true wrinkle when everyone else has textured black but calls it wrinkle. Intake is still cooling so i'll just put these here for now.

I'm Hungry

Dinners Done!

As the intake cools it will flatten out a bit, these pics looks kinda glossy.
Compared to Edelbrock factory

That looks awsome.

Do you do powder coating? I am in need of a few parts to get powder coated.
