Are you really against spraying a boosted motor? (I admit I don't know shit about this, but people do it effectively it seems.) Certainly with the FRSC and a 150 shot (maybe less) you could pop into the tens, and still have a really streetable car.

I thought about just spraying it to get there. Spray and boost will work, but I don't think it would be necessary. I think I would just use meth and crank up the boost. It would be much easier on the motor.

I'm thinking of the single turbo kit with the ball bearing turbos and sticky tires will get the job done for around $12k installed with a new clutch. If it doesn't then i can either must meth to add some boost/ timing or spray it to light the turbo.

Regardless step one is getting the vette going.

Not too much. The bigger PD type blowers really go up in price quickly when you start getting to the bigger sizes. The Hellion single turbo kit and the FRSC are both $6500. That's a really good price for a intercooled turbo or SC. I got some time. I would love a 4 liter whipe or Kennebell blower I just got to compare the cost.

I wouldn't expect the price to jump so much given the basic construction is the same, it's just case length and rotors AIR, so it's not a cost of production issue I don't think. Then again, if it's rare but highly demanded, they can command a higher premium anyway.

Unfortunately the price actually go up quite fast. I've had a procharger PMW old mustang. I used to get pissed because the belt would slip. It's either going to be the FRSC or the single turbo kit.

The veins are the reason for the cost, we have meters that are nearly identical to a PD style blower. The "next" meter up carries a 2k premium over the "lesser"

The cost of upgrading the Turbo kit in the future would also be much less. The only reason I'm considering the SC's is because like Ron said, I think they will be quicker.

Decided to bring this one back. Turbos are a no go. I just feel the Whipple and the KB units will give me better performance for my cost point. The Vortech, Procharger and Novi kits are all $2-3K less than the pd blowers, but the it seems that they run somewhat slower than the PD blowers. It looks like it will either be a KB 2.8lc or a whipple 2.9l. Problem is, that I cant find any hard data comparing the two. It looks like the KB has a more advanced screw design and some better cooling features, but on most forums people state the whipple has lower AITs. What do you guys think?

If you can't find hard data, maybe you could find enough slip data from people with otherwise identical setups to use trap speeds as a proxy. That's not great either and my guess would be that any difference you could find would not be statistically significant, but you never know. You could also pull the old calling their sales line and just tell them ,"it's between your model (a) and their model model (b), why should I buy yours?" If they have a technical applications specialist they should be able to spout off any hard differences. If you hear only spin, then the differences are probably moot. In that case, just go with the better deal you can find since it would be kind of a commodity question at that point. That's how I'd approach anyway.
