I think so.... put a long screw driver tip on the turbo housing and the handle on your ear. May even be able to feel the vibration in the handle. I had Turbo City rebuild one for us....they put it together "backwards" . The noise was gone... but so was the boost !

How is that even possible? Is turbo city the place in anaheim?

Yes, Anaheim..sounded like BS to me when I heard it too
I think they put the wrong impeller on it, with the blades reversed, and called it backwards.
