If you think I can help let me know. I have a reasonably well equipped garage with air tools etc. that can make things go rather faster. I can probably rope my brother and maybe even Adam into helping, in which case (if you know what you want done) could go relatively quick.

List of to do's:
1.Put cat on pass smog
2.Take cat back off
3.Replace whiggy electric switch for my alcohol
4.New chip, new injectors??

With the new chip I can adjust fuel in each gear as well as timing in each gear , which could make a significant difference as I am tapped out on boost with this wastegate and I have no knock. Also my car is fat as a pig and running only 18* of timing...I think I'm going to order that chip lol as I know if I don't dip into the 13's Chi will bitch slap me. 2 side notes one is Adam/Mike Pehl/Matt Smith coming? Also Chetan is a pussy my car has an exhaust leak too.... and leaks coolant and......sometimes oil
I don't know about Mike or Matt. Adam will be going on a Corvette meet/cruise the following weekend and is concerned about breaking something with a power plant he is not yet totally familiar with. Let me know if you want to roll by. We could have a different person work on each of those items simultaneously and bang it out in a few hours if things went relatively badly (unless we just break something). I think you could even swing for the fences and have Mike (Williams) come over to and do your valve springs at the same time. Especially with the new tune and all, you're pissing away a lot of power with valve float no?

Paul has HP Tuners now. I'm not ready to do a full retune, but I think I'd like to put some timing in and take some fuel out from about 4k. My tune is VERY conservative (low octane) right now. I might have 20HP on the table just from modest parameter change.

It so happens that Morgan has an extra pair of valve springs....however I do know there are some rather special tools necessary and I don't know if collectively we have everything that's necessary, aside from maybe Paul. I also am putting on a engine tie down strap that Morgan has thrown together which turned out rather nicely as you can see in the pictures. If I could do the valve springs that'd be tremendous but I think I may be satisfied with Mike helping me weld closed the coolant leak on my car. I am ordering the chip now for the 36# inj....should be an interesting 2 weeks lets hope I can pull it off. I'm thinking 13's are within my grasp which would be pretty darn good for a stock long block, transmission, intake, exhaust, turbo, and intercooler buick that's 20 years old with 130k miles!

Mike probably has all the tools necessary for doing your valve springs. I actually have my brother's MIG welder. I used it for closing up the seems on my trailing arms. Depending on what it is, I might be able to do it pretty easily. If it's hard to reach, very thin, aluminum or something like that, then somebody with more experience and preferably a TIG welder would be better. The only thing I'm suggesting is that sometimes it's better (especially with the right group of helpers) to bang out a bunch of stuff at one time rather than peck away at something. Plus, given these other ponces won't be running, I want to do what I can to make sure you make it

I ordered my chip, let's shoot for a saturday morning car gathering or sunday whenever more people can make it! I gotta get smog taken care of and my get my new registration. The thing I need welded is not aluminum nor hard to reach so let's do it. I really wanna make it out there, I'm going to text Mike and Sean and Morgan and see if we can all get together this weekend and see what we can all get fixed, I wish smog was one more month away urgh taking the cat off is a bitch and I need a torch of somekind to heat up the damn pipe to pull it off!

Cat off, new cat on pass smog, cat back off, gutted cat back on, engine tie down strap, 36# injectors, new chip, test and tune, weld coolant leak shut and change out intermittent electric switch for alky kit

After that I really need to address the transmission soon, that $600 I'm getting in June should do nicely to do the tranny and maybe an exhaust system. After I pass smog and I get my latest tax return I'm going to get my intake as it won't pass smog. Thanks ahead of time to anyone who is up for helping! I'll buy beer or food or something for everyone!

Brian

Great. Then let's have a tentative schedule for my place, from 10:00am Saturday Morning. Pizza lunch on you. . With four guys, a plan and limited grab-assing (that's right Mike, I'm talking to you , jk), we should be able to get quite a bit done.

If we do valve springs, you're going to want a new valve cover gaskets; they don't go back on so nice.

Sounds great! I will try and get Morgan to lend a hand and maybe come race as well as his blue beast seems ready to go! Be interesting to see what he can run on 195 wide white walls! I'll text all the grab assers right now...hopefully the chip gets here by than...It could be close, but the cat smog electrical issues and tie down can all be done at the very least. alright I'm officially excited again!

I talked to Mike (Williams) and depending on his Hangover status on Saturday, he said he's down for installing your springs. He has the valve spring compressor and piston something-or-other. Other than that I should have the necessary standard tools. However, he did say that he would need the factory service manual for specs and precise procedures for your Buick.

In this case it sounds like the factory service manual is Morgan. I'm down for working on Saturday as long as I'm feeling better.

That'd be awesome you guys, I have to get a hold of Morgan though which I attempted to do yesterday and will try again today, I need the springs from him and some extra "keepers" cuz he said you always loose a few? I also need to get the tie down unit from him and we will need to slightly roll the fender lip. I will try and get my grandpa's torch in a bottle to heat up the inlet of the cat to pull it off. If we pull of new springs, new injectors, chip n tune, and a tie down strap that could be worth quite a bit time wise! Keep in mind I ran 14.6 with only 13# of boost and 18* of timing, 20#'s and 20+*'s of timing plus taking out fuel...The wheels are starting to spin in my head! I won't get ahead of myself. Thanks B for sparking up my car fever again let's just hope Mike doesn't get too smashed!

Brian
