I knew a guy who predicted the demise of my friends Exploder 8.8, and he recommended we go with 140w over 90w. Shoulda listened.

Nothing to do with a brand, its a good design. THOUSANDS of 900rwhp+ 8.8's out there with nothing more than welded tubes and forged axles. c-clip eliminators extend that even further. 9" is an excellent rear end, but its heavy, and not necessary unless you are making stupid amounts on torque, and even then, it's more for rapid gear changes out of car in racing conditions.

The rear has been opened by me before and it is possible maybe I did not do something 100% correctly so I can not blame the 8.8. These things are stout. Been holding up just fine in the recent Shelbys with people putting down some serious power without problem.

I hear about the wearing out too fast, not breaking. No argument that they are stout. Any updates?

No update. Have not had the $ deal with this. Just driving the car around sparingly. Not worried about hurting anything further because if I end up keeping the Mustang I will be just redoing the rear with new everything basically.

Yeah... not gonna happen. If I was going to do anything like that it would be a 9".
