What I don't understand is how are they selling nitrous for recreational use? I thought you had to have a medical license to purchase medical grade nitrous. Nitrous for racing has sulfur dioxide in it which will make them sick.

Interesting. I didn't know that Nitrous was "denatured", but makes sense if alcohol is.

I have to disagree with you on this one. If the cops have "evidence" that leads them to believe you have drugs in your trunk and you don't give them permission to search, they will hold you until thet get a warrant and search your trunk. I know this from firsthand experience. In my youth, I was arrested in 8 different states so I have a little experience with law enforcement. Never been arrested in CA though so maybe it's a little different here.

HP numbers are good and all, but they are like asking someone how much they can bench. What difference does it make if I can still kick your ass?

They don't need a warrant if they have probable cause. The second they ask to search, they're admitting they do NOT have probable cause. Say no. Then ask, "am I being detained." Then they'll probably get kinda pissed and say no. Then say thank you and be on your way.

That's nice in theory. I was surrounded by cops when I left a dealer's house. I wouldn't give them permission to search my car. They put me in the back of their car and waited for another cop to show up with a warrant about an hour later. After the search I was hauled off to jail.

They had the "right" to detain based on the information you were leaving a known dealer's house (by the sound of it). Getting a warrant was just to solidify their case and make it harder to have thrown out in court. If they search without a warrant on probable cause, which they can do, it's a little more vulnerable to being contested in court by a good defense attorney. At least this is my understanding.

enkei?

I'm sure you're right. I had been under investigation for almost 2 years at that time. They were after me.

But the point I was making was that cops have detained me while waiting on a warrant to arrive.
