Will you regularly need more than 10 at a time?

I would suggest; however, that when uploading many photos for a single event that you follow this procedure:

1 - Create an Album
2 - Upload photos with that Album as the target.
3 - Edit that album's sub category if appropriate (e.g., Local Meet, etc.)

This way the photos will show up in a single album under it's category when browsing.

You can just create the album and upload the pictures. I'll move the pictures into the album later.

I also think the link for the picture should be displayed somewhere underneath. It's currently not that easy to get a link to post a picture in a thread.

Oky doky, but all you gotta do is right click (context click on Mac) on the pic for "Copy Location".

Created an album, but now when I select my size appropriate pics, I'm only seeing two or three out of the ten getting loaded. WTF?!!!!!!!!!!!

I see 5 in that album. They load into the full size on my system. You may be experiencing delays, especially if you're behind a corporate firewall/policy enforcement mechanism (e.g., Websense).
