Default Ignition

I've posted this just about everyplace I can, hoping that it will save just ONE person from getting hurt. This demo was done with a GM HEI, but I suspect that ANY distributor with a similar type pickup may do the same thing. Bottom line is, when you're working under the hood, keep your coconut engaged!!

Picture this- under the hood, key ON, in gear, you grap your trusty soldering gun to fix that broken wire. Hit the gun to get it warmed up, lean over and the thing starts. Or just fires and cranks a little, you get your fingers, or your shirt caught in the belts. It's happened before.

I'm confused. Where do you plug in your laptop?

JK - Thanks for the warning. There are so many great ways to hurt yourself working on cars, it's good to be reminded of the "wow, I didn't think of that" scenarios.

In them days, Sonny, a laptop was what you had breakfast in bed served on.

Unfortunatly, no. But not because I didn't try. I just couldn't get him any closer to the action.
