Very plausible. I don't think it's an especially bad idea. While in the Hypercar range, there are some dynamite hybrids out there now (Porsche, McClaren).

I think a kinetics based system like Porsche is feasible in motorsports.

It's the way of the world. Nissan has apparently trademarked R-Hybrid and has some of their own tech.
