Mmm, my guess is the number of bands who string hits to gether vs. one-hit-wonders is pretty small.

It was/is my hope that people give a little back story to what their listening to on occasion. That's what's interesting as much as anything.

I don't know how many times I've listened to this piece. It is from her album "Medulla". Side note: How many commercially successful artists can you think of who make an entire album derived from vocal sounds? You may or may not dig what she's doing, but she fearlessly swings for the fences again and again. A true and rare artist who puts vision before all else.

Even many supposedly super star songs are pretty dismal in my opinion. I guess it should makes us appreciate how great good lyrics are. Think of Billy Joel's Piano Man, or <fill in the blank>. Sadly we are often only presented with the great successes of people, and rarely see just how much work (and in many cases neurosis) goes on behind the scenes.
