the trans will sell for $500 by itself, and yes im registered and have already pm'ed him my number
Just checked, the room will cost $149 after taxes and such, i'll take care of the fuel costs, trailer, just need help with the room.

Probably best to send him money with paypal until i can secure an exact day to get up there, im thinking the 18th.
That way its payed for and urgency is pulled of us a little bit and i can align getting the trailer from sensei

Mmm, ok. I'm not excited about paying for property I don't yet own that sits in limbo. I'd be a little more amenable to sending $200 via paypal as a deposit and proof of intent and $500 cash when you get there. This means less exposure to liability.

I understand the feeling, this will be yet another vehicle i have purchased up north, once paypal is used especially since paypal is now linked to your bank account if the dude bounces with the cash one call to your bank reverses the charges just like anything else.
My concern is him selling the car to one of the other members who can actually drive it home.

Some contract, to be safe, would be required. What if it's stolen? What if it's hit in his driveway? I can draft a "memo of understanding" that *should* be clarifying if anything unpleasant arises.
Another option is if Ron is available/willing/interested to take a day, so can I and we can just drive up in back in one stage to get it. If he can, I'll count his gas as $150, same as offered to you for lodging. In fact, anyone who can get it and deliver it gets $150 or a $150 buy in credit to make it even.
