I like the Mustang II but I'm concerned about finding an engine and trans. However, we could do it up like the old Charlie's Angel car and we could all wear blonde wigs to help with getting selected to participate.

turn key engines off CL can be had with trans for under 300, shit I think i know someone selling a cammed stock engine for really really cheap. Toss the heads Shawn did on and its already set up for carb, set, done.

I'd also like to throw out keeping an eye on ChumpCar for the next race down here. Very much like Lemons without all the the crazy shit. Just $500 and a 24 hour race.

I've thought about the MII a bit more and it's more than I want to get into for this project. It is literally a gutted chassis and would require everything. Even if it could be done cheaply, it's a lot of work in time and effort. I want something that we can really get online a bit quicker once we have the car.

Not dead simple at all, requires the entire front section of harness be replaced with a v8 one, dash, maf harness, computer, injector harness, then finding an engine wont be easy either as we'd need a 2v or find another k-member to install a pushrod, just not worth the effort.

We could modify the K-member ourselves and run a carb'd 5.0. We wouldn't need a computer at all.

We could get the v6 and just get it running and cage it. If we have a good time then we can rip out the v6 and drop the 5.0. If it gets enough use we could try to do an American iron build.
As far as the Lemons or chump car races, let just get something running first so we can participate.
