Aluminum block 5.8, TVS2300 blower, 15 psi. Carbon Fiber Driveshaft, Boss suspension essentially, 15 inch (!) Brembos, 650hp/600tq. THE most powerful regular production V8 in the world, and some bitchin quad exhaust tips! Its also a good bit lighter than the old GT500s.

This thing will just slaughter any camaro at anything (c'mon camaro guys, you can admit it, its okay.), beat a Z06 in a straight line, and surprise a lot of people in the twisties. My newest car on the "own before I die" list.
I totally agree. People always talk about live axle and such but would most people even get the use out of a Boss. I say no. So just buy the Shelby and enjoy the hell out of a 650hp monster on the street because that is the only place you are going to drive it anyway.

On a side note... I will take the front of a '11 with the rear of a '12 please.

That's for sure. Less than 1% of Corvette drivers drive that platform for what it was designed. So the rest is just a question of where economics, engineering and marketing all fall together. From an engineering POV, the modern live axle setup Ford has is stunning (ended up costing them more than had they gone with the originally planned IRS, but I digress), but likewise, for optimal handling on track conditions, it can never be the same as an IRS.

The one positive thing about a SRA is the decreased likelihood of axle hop. The old man has a STS-V and that thing hops like a mother if you get on it hard from a stop. My Mustang did some axle hopping when stock, but after upgrading the LCA's it hasn't done it since. In fact, I can leave a stop as hard as I want and it will either bite or burn 'em depending on the road surface, temp, etc...

I don't have much first hand experience w/ IRS sports cars and axle hop other than my dads V, so I certainly could be wrong here. However, it seems like many CTS-V owners, vette owners, and 03-04 Cobra owners complain a lot about the axle hop issue.
