I would anchor that press a lot more though. It doesn't seem like a big deal, but over thousands of pulls, that's wasted energy. For handgun loads, I'd also spend the money for the powder checker, somehow on a batch where we were fighting with decapping, we managed to squib a whole bunch of 45s. It's not fun trying to get a bullet out that's stuck in a barrel. It's probably even less fun to have a double charge go boom in your face.

One thing about the 650 that's pretty cool as I recall, if you want to spend a lot more is that like the 1020, it can be fully automated.

Cost factor here is important....Hornady wins.......in auto everything xl650 wins......In simply doing things easier Hornady wins.....In everything else xl650 probably is better ...but not by much. Finding either one in stock almost impossible right now

Price for xl650 with case feeder and a few needed items is $1050.00 to my door.

Hornady is going to be about $250 less...not as much as I thought though.

I think either is going to be fine. I'd probably lean towards Dillon as it "looks" a little more robust. You're going to be loading mostly/exclusively handgun ammo right? The one thing the guy mentioned about the Hornady that caught my ear was concentricity of the bullet being mated with the case. If you were going to be doing much rifle ammo in particular that you really cared about accuracy and the Hornady was better in this regard with easy of setup or consistency, then I might break towards hornady regardless of price. But, off the top, if the difference is only $250, I'd probably still go Dillon. Tons of accesories and support too.

High precision rifle reloading is still and probably forever going to be a single stage operation anyway, I'm talking about just reasonably accurate, but higher volume production rifle ammo.
