A proper V8, RWD Impala. This would be built off of the Pontiac G8 platform. Engine would be the LS3 with the buyers choice of a 6 speed auto or manual transmission.

I've actually been saying that for awhile. And screw you fwd is where it is at bro. Heck yeah. God I would get rid of this Impala for a typhoon or rwd ls3 Impala in a heart beat.

I would like to see Ford make the Lightning Bolt. They may not need a big engine but a supercharged 4.0L like the V6 or if you could fit it, a supercharged 4.6L, hey if it fits in the stang why not a truck? That might be fun. Smaller and more nimble than a Lighntning but ballsy enought to shred some pavement. Maybe even make it AWD.

One of the only two front mid engine cars ever built. (The other being the RX7)
It was Chevrolets response to the Shelby Cobra. SBC pushed so far back that the trans yoke was connected directly to the diff, no driveshaft. They made, I think less than 20 of these and the factory burned down.
If you ever see one, it will almost definitelty be a replica.

Uh, what defines front mid engine for you? Technically it only means between front and rear axle. Go take a look at your Vette's engine location . . .
Mass centralization and relation to pivotal moment of inertia is a different story.

Que?
I wasn't defining it, just passing along what I've read. And my Vette doesn't have a front axle, so what does that prove? A HA!

Never said WHO should build it, just that's what I'd like to see. It is doable.
We have the minds to build it, just who will step up?

Actually, Chevy's first reponse to the Cobra was the lightweight Grand Sport.
Duntov actually did it behind the GM big wigs backs.

Our Vette's engine sits behind the "K" member which make it a "TRUE" mid engine.
