Just reporting as I don't have kids, but I have many friends who do including OBGYNs and some women friends way into "modern" techniques (that are very old).

A lot of people are doing co-sleeping as well. This all used to be just the way kids were raised. Basically the idea is from evolutionary biology, we are group animals, and the youngest were extremely vulnerable to predator attack if not constantly protected so it's in their wiring to be nervous and cranky when away from parents (or protector adults) and basically at peace when close to them. And conversely the parent is emotionally "rewarded" for this making it something desirable and less work-like. Nature knows what she's doing. Like anything else, each parent goes on their own journey and finds their combos of what works for them. Just share'n.

Congrats man! Wow, must feel surreal.

I asked my boss, who recently had a baby, how she was doing with sleep. She said fine, her baby sleeps through the night because she doesn't let him nap all day. Interesting strategy, wonder if it's healthy.

When he's ready for some special education sessions with Uncle Ben, just let me know.

Leedom,
Thanks for the advice on swaddling I have to be doing something wrong with it. He is really active and can kicks and gets his hands free in it. I'm actually a little worried to make it any tighter. I did get a stoke which is just like the Ergo. I'm going to try it tonight. I am affective at getting him to sleep when I'm holding him, but as soon as I put him down the rage begins. Again thanks for all the advice.

Carlos,

Chase got pretty good at getting out so I just had to step up my game but there are a ton of techniques on YouTube like the double swaddle or the Super Swaddle. Good luck getting your arms out on that one. They also make special swaddle apparel.

Good Luck and congrats again!
