The AFB carb on the boat has this stupid air flow valve mechanism which is basically a weighted set of butterflys that swing open with enough air flow. They are opening too soon, causing a bog, so I need you to weld a nut or something to each of the weights to make it heavier.

Are you ready for me to come by and get that bumper on finally? I'll just bring it next time I come over.

1 - Jeremy Clarkson is a genius.
2 - I gotta figure out how to make some real money some day.
3 - I am curious what a ZR1 would do on that track.

1) Agree
2) Let me know if you figure that out
3) Corvette ZR1 1.20.4, but I believe it was on a wet surface.

I believe the estimate for the wet surface spread on that track is at about 2 seconds. So the ZR1 is clearly in the same raw performance category.

The fact that a 4200lb Bugatti Veyron SS is the current record holder is amazing to me.

AWD with 1200hp and more importantly 1100tq to get that 4200lbs moving.

That covers the accelerating part for sure, but the stopping and turning of that much inertia is mind bending. All things equal, reducing weight is about the best thing you can do for total performance. However, if you have more than a million to spend on a car, these factors can be substantially mitigated.

It has huge carbon fiber discs with 8 piston calipers in the front and 6 piston calipers in the rear. Not to mention the rear wing is used for braking. It has braking covered and the AWD helps with accelerating out of turns.

Granted, at 4200lbs it is heavy but the ZR1 is somewhere around 3300-3400lbs. The rule of thumb I've always heard was losing 100lbs is like picking up 10hp. The Veyron has about 560hp more than the ZR1.
