Guage not reading oil press.
But there is oil in my oil filter (that was installed dry), this means that I have oil pressure and the guage is not working, right?
I asked this question 3 times on vettemod with no direct response. I hate it when people feel that they know what your problem is better than you do and their response does not answer your question. Please dear God someone answer yes or no.

As far as I know, that should mean you have pressure. Sounds like just a problem with the gauge, but then again what do I know

IF there is oil in the filter the only thing it means for sure is that the pump is pumping oil. You cannot derive if there is adequate pressure. There may be problems with the pump, pick-up tube, etc. In other words don't just assume it's the gauge.

Ok, if there is oil in the filter, yes to do have SOME oil pressure. But, how much if hard to say without a gauge. If you take the oil fitting off the back of the block, just crank the engine and the oil SHOULD come out the fitting hole. Also H-lifters need about 12 lbs oil pressure to hold lash. This help?

Yes, it would have. But you came too late, like I said, she's alive! And the oil pressure guage is now working.
