The power per size, packaging, yes. They do some trick things, making peripheral ports, Turbos and even using some kind of turbo mechanism to drive the input shaft from the main pulley. This guy Roland said that with all tricks in place and dialed they can achieve thermal effeciencies approaching 50%. I rather doubt that, but it sounds like they can get them pretty high. Compared to other automotive (not aviation) piston driven engines.

- relatively light
- small
- virtually endless duty cycle
- well suited to turbo applications
- definitely smoother (two rotor)

on the 50% efficiencies.

As far as I know, only the newest two stroke turbo diesels used in cargo shipping (gigantic engines) approach 50%. Other than that, some trick natural gas turbines in generator plants that capture and use waste heat to drive additional steam turbines (I think) get up there or slightly beyond. But these are industrial scale engines/power generators.

If I had a 400hp+ Turbo Rotary laying around in the garage before I built the stroker I would have put it in the Vette.

I would still love to do something like that to piss off guys like Bird and Glenn.
