Default Cutting off your own internet FTL!

So since we moved into our new place there has been a satellite dish leftover from the previous owner. I had been saying I was going to take it down for months. This week I haven't been feeling so hot, but yesterday afternoon I decided to tackle it. My understanding of our current setup was that our cable now comes through the front of the house and all the stuff on the side was just leftover from DISH. So I took down the satellite and cut all the cables associated with it. Big mistake. It turns out that the cable company had actually used one of the existing lines and I cut off all the internet and the TV to the second story

In my limited defense, it even took the cable guy about 10 minutes to figure out what was going on. He said the wiring to our place is strange and that I wasn't a complete idiot

So, that's the story of my 24 hour internet vacation. Anything interesting happen while I was gone?

Glad to hear you are not a complete idiot. I -myself- never thought you were a complete idiot.

Don't sweat it, you never know what a complete idiot will do to screw things up. I deal with complete idiots everyday. So I should know.

You didn't miss anything. It's been slow on here.

When I lived in GG. The block got cable in 83. I had to rewire the house after the cable guy got done. So my neighbors saw what I was doing and I ended up redoing a number of houses.
