It could be a Ford thing, lol.

I found the problem, it was due to a pin hole in the number 4 spark plug wire. I also fixed the light throttle stumble which I think was from the high resistance of the Taylor wires I was running. They were the resistor style and the shortest one which is about 16-18 inches had over 4k ohms. The longest Jacob only has 300 ohms.

I wonder if that is my issue as well, after fixing it the first time I had a weird stumble I couldn't track down. I also have Taylor wires and they are total pieces of shit.

I started using them because that's what J&M Speed Center in Riverside recommended for the Cobra. I kept burning the boots up on the Ford Racing wires I was running before. The ones they had must not have been the resistor style. I ordered the set I have now from Summit and I bought the resistor ones. If I ever need to replace these Jacobs I'm going to order a set of Firecore 50 wires. I'll also be ordering a set for the Chevelle when I'm ready to get it running again.

I pulled the pinion out of the Explorer last night and took a couple pictures of the broken tooth.
