Default It does not cease to amaze me how selfish, stupid and unreasonable people can be.

My days as of recent (ski season) have consisted of standing in front of a long line of people, in which the cutomers typically wait 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours. Must suck for them.

Constantly, people will storm to the front, demand speedy service, and when I tell them that they are no more important than the people that are in front of them in line, they demand to speak with a manager. Yes, this will help the problem, tie up one of the two guys doing work and moving the line.

The manager comes out, asks me the situation, and then reiterates it to the customer. The customer complains some more, and then I'll make sure not to give them any freebies and rent them bad equipment. Dumb.

Some dude came in today and did just this I asked him if he could go elsewhere in the store to complain so that he would not worsen the situation.

And some people are just stupid.

I had this lady come in the other day. She wanted to rent a snowboard, I sized her up, pulled one out, and she complains that the snowboard was chipped. To which I reply, "it's a rental, they all have chips." She asks, can I see another one anyways? Sure! Why not, I'm not busy or anything. Bring another one out, set it down, and I say "there ya go, this ones chipped too!" She gives me an angry face, then I get her some boots. She compalins about the boots (they're rip cord boots, she wanted laces) I reply, "all of our rental boots have the rip cord." She asks, can I see another pair anyways. I give her the Lewis Black face for a moment. I get another pair, slam them down on the counter (there ya go! same rip cord, different color). She asks if there is anyone else that can help her, as "I don't seem to be helping her any." To which I reply "nope! everyone else is busy." She demands to speak to a manager, I tell her to go look for one. I didn't feel like saving her a trip. A manager happened to be standing by and he came over after hearing this bitch squeal. She explans the situation to him, claiming that I refused to show her another pair of boots, to which I interjected "not true, those are the second set of boots right there." The manager shakes his head at me to shut up, but I don't care. Then he asks me if we have any rental boots with laces. I tell him that we don't, he explains it to her. And she leaves all huffy puffy. What did she think was going to happen? Did she expect the manager to pull one out of his ass? Stupid ho.

Enough from me, let's hear your holiday work stories.

We have a retail section to CI. Yep, this goes on every day. How do these people get thru life?

"What year, type and model vehicle do you have"?

Customer states; "BLUE".

Every day this goes on.

I love it when someone asks me something and when they get an answer that they don't like, they ask again.

Can I get this snowboard waxed today?

Nope, it's a 2 day turn around.

So there's no way to get it done today.

No.

So you guys wouldn't be able to do it while I was shopping around in the store right now?

Yea, when our customers come back with "So you are saying..............". They have it so far wrong that I wonder if I'm talking in another language.

The 'other' big thing is having to repeat myself 6 to 8 times. No, really I started keeping track of this and sometimes I have to repeat up to 15 times the same thing over and over again. Stupid fucking people.

Me too! Sometimes, when I need a good laugh I go to the Customer Service Department and listen to reps talk on the phone. They have those mute headsets, and the running commentary on the conversation is mind bending sometimes. I would need a six figure salary to even consider doing that kind of work.

I used to do it when i ran a korean bowl place in fullerton and orange. Even when people are ordering food they can make themselves look like total idiots and mess up a simple thing like ordering food for u to eat lol.

Next time you fly, hang around either the ticket counter or a customer service counter for a bit. Some of the stupid stuff people do at an airport makes you wonder how in the world they can find the floor when they get out of bed in the morning. I'd last "maybe" 30 minutes before I reached across the counter and grabbed them by the throat and pointed them at the door.
One example-
agent- "I'm sorry sir, but the flights to xxx are cancelled because of weather"
customer- " I need to get to xxx today"
agent- " I understand sir, but there are no more flights today"
customer-" Can I get a ticket to yyy and then get to xxx?"
agent-" Yes I can get you to yyy, but there are no flights to xxx becasue of the weather there"

And it usually goes into an endless loop for the next 30 minutes. Not too long after 9-11, in Detroit, a customer was a bit PO'd about something, went over to a planter and picked up a softball sized rock, went back to the service counter and started banging it on the table. Metro PD escorted him away with a very nice set of bracelets.

Old guy named Henry said it best- " The average person is way below average"

I don't fly. I've met some of the people that work on the planes. No Thanks.

Oh, of course I don't mean you.
