My days as of recent (ski season) have consisted of standing in front of a long line of people, in which the cutomers typically wait 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours. Must suck for them.
Constantly, people will storm to the front, demand speedy service, and when I tell them that they are no more important than the people that are in front of them in line, they demand to speak with a manager.
Yes, this will help the problem, tie up one of the two guys doing work and moving the line.
The manager comes out, asks me the situation, and then reiterates it to the customer. The customer complains some more, and then I'll make sure not to give them any freebies and rent them bad equipment. Dumb.
Some dude came in today and did just this I asked him if he could go elsewhere in the store to complain so that he would not worsen the situation.
And some people are just stupid.
I had this lady come in the other day. She wanted to rent a snowboard, I sized her up, pulled one out, and she complains that the snowboard was chipped. To which I reply, "it's a rental, they all have chips." She asks, can I see another one anyways? Sure! Why not, I'm not busy or anything. Bring another one out, set it down, and I say "there ya go, this ones chipped too!" She gives me an angry face, then I get her some boots. She compalins about the boots (they're rip cord boots, she wanted laces) I reply, "all of our rental boots have the rip cord." She asks, can I see another pair anyways. I give her the Lewis Black face for a moment. I get another pair, slam them down on the counter (there ya go! same rip cord, different color). She asks if there is anyone else that can help her, as "I don't seem to be helping her any." To which I reply "nope! everyone else is busy." She demands to speak to a manager, I tell her to go look for one. I didn't feel like saving her a trip. A manager happened to be standing by and he came over after hearing this bitch squeal. She explans the situation to him, claiming that I refused to show her another pair of boots, to which I interjected "not true, those are the second set of boots right there." The manager shakes his head at me to shut up, but I don't care. Then he asks me if we have any rental boots with laces. I tell him that we don't, he explains it to her. And she leaves all huffy puffy. What did she think was going to happen? Did she expect the manager to pull one out of his ass? Stupid ho.
Enough from me, let's hear your holiday work stories.
