Is the entire exhaust painted already including the tips? I am not sure how much it would cost but you may want to look into powder coating the piping and muffler. From what I have heard it holds up pretty well even with the heat from the exhaust.

I think if you use a combination of steel wool and sandpaper to prep it and then paint it turns out pretty nice. If we put mine on this weekend and you want to come up you're more than welcome

Just take it to Greg the day before the dyno. He charged me $50 to install my X-pipe.

Yeah, I remember when I would have done that, too. But I'd rather get beaten than work under my car off my back, any more.

Not me, I love doing this stuff. I did a solid axle swap on my Explorer in my driveway using a saws all, cutoff wheel and my brothers welder. Same with everything that I've done to the Chevelle and Cobra. Well except for rebuilding the trans in the Cobra I took it to my brothers shop and we did it there on a lift. But I did remove and install the trans in the Chevelle in my garage. My brother just rebuilt it at his shop.
Sean, if your x-pipe is like mine you can remove and install the new one by just lifting the front of the car. I didn't even need to lift the back to be able to do it.

Ron,
That is pretty much how my dad and I swapped out his tranny in the 72 Mach. Put the rear up on jack stands and put the front of the car on ramps and blocks and gave us enough room to get the trans out. If we can get anywhere near that kind of lift on Sean's car we should have plenty of room.

That's the same thing I had to do to remove the trans from the Chevelle. The only issue I ran into was that the trans wouldn't come out on the jack so I had to lift it off of it and then slide it out which wasn't all that bad. The tough part was when I was installing it I had to slide it under the car and then lift it up on the jack under the car. That was a little harder to do.
