Default Book Time for Changing Power Steering Pump on GMC Sierra

Can anybody look up the book time for changing out a power steering pump on a 1996 GMC Sierra (5.0L). I can't tell where all the bolts are or how difficult it will be to release the lines from the pump. It could either be not too bad, or super ball suck territory.

I need to call him tomorrow so I'll make sure he logs in. We went up to the snow yesterday with our families and I snapped the front axle u-joint in the Explorer.

It can't be that difficult. Quit your complaining and pick up a ratchet.

I know it's a strange approach, but I like to have some idea of what I'm getting into . . . before I get into it.

Warranty time pays 1.6 hrs. It is not to bad to do. Remove the upper fan shroud and fan, take off the belt. Press off the p/s pump pulley, remove 5 or 6 bolts holding the aluminum bracket to the engine. Remove the hoses from the pump and take the aluminum bracket with with the pump out. Remove the three p/s pump bolts and swap the new pump into the bracket. Reverse removal process, fill and bleed system. The fan
spins onto the waterpump and takes a large wrench or special tool to remove. It comes off counter clockwise. key is to hit a wrench with a hammer while the belt is still on, If you do not have the J-tool. You can call me if you have any questions.

Thanks man That's plenty clear. I'll get to it this weekend if it's not too cold or rainy. Any torque specs for fan or brackets I should be aware of?
