Although we haven't heard from
Irv Gordon has his almost-three-million-mile
1966 Volvo P1800 in a while, we can't help but think of him for this story. Starting next month,
Volvo will be launching the
Volvo Heritage Club to distinguish owners celebrating long-term or high-mileage milestones with their car.
The automaker had a High Mileage Club that dated back to the '60s, but this new club also recognizes people who have simply owned their car for a long time, if not driven it hundreds of thousands or millions of miles. Joining the club is easy as long as you have owned your Volvo for at least 10 years, own a Volvo with more than 100,000 original miles and/or are a member of the Volvo High Mileage Club.
As a way to celebrate with its club members, Volvo will be handing out medallions for hitting specific ownership and mileage intervals. Club members will also receive exclusive offers and invitations to Volvo events.
