Just had a vision of you doing meth to work for six days. It was scary.

And yes, caffeine is absolutely a drug.

So I was all ready to yank the motor out of the cobra today. Got a set of shiney forged pistons, gaskets, seals, the works. As I was about to really tear into it i decided to pull the valve cover for a look, here's what I found...

Apparently the POS shop who installed all the parts for my buddy(more on that later) neglected to check if the studs were the right length before installing the rockers. They have MAYBE 4 threads into the poly locks. About 1/4, so it just snapped the very end piece off the studd and dropped into the valve cover. Which explains the noises I was hearing. If you look you can see that the polylocks come no where near flush at the top, big no-no . Dumbasses, grabbed a set of full length ARP studs and relashed it. Simple right? Took about 20min start to finish. To make it easier and clean up the plug wires I pulled the cap and wires when getting everything off so I go to start it, sputter pop pop pop dead. I checked my firing order a dozen time, tinkered back of forth for the timing. Check all my sensors, because it was running fine(other then the rocker) before I started work. Well the POS shop just stabbed the dizzy where they felt like it and spun it 120* until #1 cylinder was at TDC. After pulling the dizzy, starting over and installing it the right way at 10 BTDC. Cars starts right up and idles like a champ, I advanced the timing a cunt hair and it runs like a scalded dog. Very pleased with the outcome. I'll drive it like this until I can register the blue car, then i'll yank the goodies and put it back to stock.
The shop may or may not have also swapped the comp pro magnum rockers for proform rockers, going to verify tomorrow.

Hey guys, you dont need to tighten these valve covers this tight...

Also, shitty clips but hey i was tinkering with the new phone

Yeah, gonna rock it as is until the holidays are over. That way I can really iron out the fox, and build up the stock motor. Once it's passed i'll yank the goodies and toss the stocker in and away she'll go.

Glad it's fairly easy to fix.

So i've been lazy about updating. I tossed the stock bulbs in favor of HID's on the complete set.

Also went to the yard and found a stock CD player to rob for parts to fix the eject problems with the one that is currently in the car. Works like it should now.

Also grabbed an antenna and made my own shorty antenna but cant find the pic I took. I'll take another soon.
Also tracked down a cowl cover, hood bumpers and various nick nacks that were missing and bugging me.
