Default Could be my next personal sports car

As some of you have had the misfortune to hear my political rants against government interventionism and GM's bailout, you know I won't buy another GM product. Wouldn't take one for "free" actually. It's sad because there are undoubtedly many fine people at GM and I truly love what the Corvette brand is about, but I'm just that idealistic. So much that even the idea of continuing to work on my old Vette is no longer as appealing.

But Corvette's aren't the only cool cars in the world. I have a new found admiration for Ford. They too have a truly great American history and fixed their own problems without suckling from the teet of Uncle Sam. Unfortunately, while the Mustang is great in a lot of ways, it's not quite what I'm personally looking for.

How about a Superformance GT40. Yeah, this might work.

That would be my FIRST pick.

Hey, do you EVER call anyone back?

Yes. Unfortunately I misplaced my cell phone charge and its been dead for a couple days. Email/PM is by FAR the better to get in contact with me, even if it's just, "hey call me."

While I'm totally into the GT40, the Type 65 is a lot more plausible in the near term, especially if I sold the Vette for a reasonable price when the economy pics up. Then it wouldn't even be that big a deal.

But I do wonder about Kit Car laws in CA? I went through a lot of hoops to make the Vette completely street legal.

Yea, some research is needed here.

I would go with a Cobra if I had that kind of mula. Twin turbo setup definitely on an LSX.

You mean like a Termi or a Shelby Cobra (Mk III)? Anyway, I prefer a longer wheel base. My preference (money no object)

GT40
Type 65
Mk III

I don't do GM anymore. A pox on their house.

If you hate your Vette so badly, I have a nice Dodge I would trade you for. It's totally reliable.

Like a... Shelby Cobra! British roadster with the 427! But only for an old car/ kit car.

With as much as you're willing to spend on the GT40 I'd try to find a used Mallet Corvette or a Henessey Viper.

Why don't you go with a Viper Ben?
