After the motor is done then I will probably be in need of an upgraded clutch and a new seat. I will probably take a break for a while after that. When I'm scheduled to return to the "main land" I will be looking for a built car for ST-1 or GT2. If I can't find something in my price range then I will sned my car back early and have it caged and stripped down.

What would be the price range for a ready to go car for ST-1/GT2?
- New from scratch
- Used but in good condition

Stay away from SPEC clutches, too much chatter. And buy it before the motor goes back in!!!

If you go with a one piece, use silicone. The directions on mine said to put it in dry, I did, it leaked. 2nd time around I put it in with silicone, seals.

SBCs are leak happy.

First on my list is to build a rear shock hoop on the Explorer so that I can run longer shocks. Right now I have a shock that has 9.25 inches of travel. It has 3 inches of up travel and is bottoming out 5 inches before my bump stop. I need to raise the upper mount and then install longer shocks. It should cycle 14-15inches when I'm done.

For the Cobra I need to do the brakes and figure out an electrical issue that it now has.

For the Chevelle I going to install the new windows I bought for it.

ST-1 ready to go can be anywhere between $50-80K depending on what is done. Build one yourself will be around $130k. That includes the price of the car and the upgrades. You can strip a used Z06 and cage it, then but some slicks and run it. It would be pointless though.

A GT-2 car is >$100K unless you can find a deal. You can find some cheaper RX-8s, but you will be continously fighting not to come last.

I troll the back pages of Grassroots motorsports magazine and Sportscar Magazine to see what's for sale.

I have time.

I think I will put a bass boat paint job and some gold Dayton wheels on my dads FJ40.

My Fj40 will get a new fuel tank, longer rear leaf springs and the axle moved back 5 inches. Then 37 inch tires.

The Jimmy will be getting new dual exhaust with flow masters to go behind the recently installed 383cid small block.
