No Scandinavian flicks allowed. And no, I'm not talking about Sweedish porn.

Well, I was actually talking about vehicle drifting, but I like your take on this. The porn part anyway.

The Flick is when you turn the car awai from the corner and then abruptly turn in. It unsettles the car and initiates a drift. Be carefull because all those videos where guys go to drift into a corner then procede directly to the closest barrier are flicks gone wrong.

Competitive Drifting (D1) prohibits flicks. You can only turn in and power on (plus their suspension setup is totally specialized). Ralley drivers are the ones who developed and routinely use flicks as part of their technique.

Manual Shifting - How to drive stick shift.
Depress clutch, select gear (1st typically), hold accelerator to WOT, release clutch rapidly, continue holding accelerator to WOT, shift gear box to next consecutive gear once redline RPM is achieved (without depressing clutch). Repeat last two steps as desired.

Yea, that's always the way I did it.

D1 is only 1 sanctioning body. Go to streefire.net and it's littered with "professional" drifters on walls. D-1 definately lets you use the E brake and pop the clutch.
The suspension is totally different, but the only real speciallized part is the steering arms and A-arms that are modified to allow greater steering angles.
Want to drift like a pro? Inflate your rear tires to 45 psi, drop the fronts to 28 and let it fly.

D1 is where the tops and that's all I'm referring to. To my knowledge no other professional sanctioning bodies allow the flick in "competition", my original assertion. Whether or not psuedo-professional jack asses flick themselves into a wall is a different question.
