Default To Coil-over or not coil-over. That is the Question.

So I have a little extra money floating around in my car performance fund and was loking into increasing the ability of my rear. My Mustang's rear that is! I was considering going coil-overs at some point all the way around and was wondering if anyone out there considers this a worthy choice. Most of you know how I drive my stang but for those of you who don't here goes. I drive it regularly and sometimes hit the drag strip. I want the car to have good DD characteristics but have the right upgrades to get my car to perform better. Thanks for any advise all. I know the end suspension for the rear of my car will be a MM Torque-Arm set-up, wheather is is coil-over or stock location springs is yet to be determined.

You haved lot's of choices. I would through out KWs. They go for $1,800 to $5,000. I have the variant 3's which are one step under their cup set up. THey have Variant 2's and their non adjustable shock set up that are much cheaper. They come with the high speed (low frequency) dampening set and are comfortable on the highway.

Just keep in mind what you want out of hte car. What works for one type of racing generally doesn't work for much else.

But with double adjustable shocks and different spring sets for the COs you sure have some variability in setup choice, going from track to strip, as you know

Depends on the kit I'd say. You can prob do better with just upgrading the springs and shocks and bars than some of the coil over kits out there. If you're talking about a serious setup though, go for it.

Lurk the Mustang boards and see what works.

The set-up for the rear will eventually be the Maximum Motorsports Torque Arm set-up. I am not looking to spend $2K-$5K on coilovers for this car as it stands right now.

I agree. The stock suspension will work fine if you are just looking for daily driving and occasional drag racing even with a blower. I ran 11.69 at 119 with all the stock suspension on the Cobra even with worn out bushing. Now if you want it to corner better then you do need to start changing the stock stuff.
