I think I'm going to check it out on Friday at a 3d theater. It's supposed to be incredible looking. The reviews are pretty solid too. It appears James Cameron has managed to make a 300million dollar movie about 8ft tall aliens and pulled it off

My daughters and I went to the 15 minute preview at IMAX Irvine a couple months ago. The visuals were absolutely mind blowing. We have tickets to the midnight showing at IMAX Friday morning. I took the day off Friday to sleep in.

I went and saw the movie last night. Wow! The aliens look absolutely real. The story was fairly predicable and standard, but the visuals left me speechless. I highly recommend watching the movie at the IMAX 3D. Worth every single extra penny. I will probably see the movie again.
