I think it's mostly a matter of time before the industry sorts out these obvious requirements issues. I know there is incredibly heavy research into battery tech because that is basically the entire problem. The electric motors are no problem at all.

But even now, in typical jack ass street driving, a Tesla S P95D will bitch slap pretty much anything light to light.
