The mud sucked me in! I was in two wheel drive and we were on the main road which is usaully a grated road that cars drive up to get to the camp grounds. We came around a corner and the rear tires slid into the mud. I then put it in four wheel drive but couldn't go forward. So I tried to go full throttle backwards and the drivers side slid deeper into the mud. I could rock the truck about 6 inches forward and backwards but didn't have the power to pull through it. Phil hooked up a tow strap and was able to pull me backwards out of it. However, I had to drive through a little bit of it to get to dry dirt and in the process I snapped my front drivers side axle u-joint. I didn't have a spare axle so I just removed the inner shaft and blocked the tube off with a rag so I could get home.

Phil also didn't mention that he got stuck. The trail was quite slick in some sections and one of those was a rocky hill. Phil was working his way up it when his truck slid sideways in the mud and pinned his axles on two decent size rocks. I was able to get around him so that he could hook his winch up to my bumper and pull his truck off the rocks.

Once we got to the top of that section he started to play around on some large rocks (one was about 3.5ft high) when he slid sideways again to the point where he was close to rolling over. We spent about an hour moving, digging and stacking rocks so that he could try and back up. We also hooked a tow strap to my truck and I tried to pull him sideway but only moved his truck about an inch. We were worried that once he started backing up that he would slide off the rocks and roll but he was able to just back right back down.

It was a very enjoyable night. I have a lot of fun night wheeling.
