That shouldn't be enough to break the carrier and ring gear. I've only cracked a carrier once with all the racing and off-roading that I've done over the years. That was the stock carrier in the Cobra and that was after years of 6000rpm launches.

Didn't you replace the entire rear end last time instead of rebuilding the one that was in the truck? What did you do with the original rear end? What broke in it? I can check to see if Phil has heard of common rear end issues with them. I know my friends wife has one and it hasn't had any issues.
