It may not be 'New,' but latest Beetle is refreshing reinterpretation.It's never easy to reinterpret a design icon on the order of the Volkswagen Beetle, one of the most recognizable vehicles ever. But with the New Beetle getting old, the time has for the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle. One of the most anticipated new VWs in recent memory, the 2012 Beetle is getting the VIP treatment with a simultaneous world premiere in Shanghai, Berlin, and at this week's 2011 New York show.

I like it a lot better than the outgoing model. It looks less feminine. It reminds me a little bit of the Audi TT. The 265hp Type-R version would probably be fun to drive.

I wonder if they'll offer the original up-armoring kit. :inout:

First Beetle I have seen with a "Hood". I agree with you Sean a lot less feminine.

Looks like they mated the previous beetle with a Fiat 500.

That sort of begs the question. Are they going after a dude market one wonders? Considering how much good stuff is available, wonder if that'll work.

They ruined the bug by moving the engine to the front. The old bugs were cool, the new ones suck.

looks better but I still wouldnt want to buy it.

and ya they are trying to appeal to guys, but I think they should have just stuck with catering to girly girls.
