Selection of Valve Springs for Moderate Cam

So I broke a valve spring on my H&C LS motor. The springs were Comp Cams Single Coil 120lbs. My cam is moderate: .566 lift 114LSA 224/224. I happen to have a full set of C5ZO6 springs, which are beehive type and run about 100lbs apparently, but Shaolin Crane has a hookup on replacement springs for a very low price . . but it's still more than $0. The engine is not a screamer, stock redline at 6,500. Would I notice a bit of difference stepping down to the C5ZO6 beehive springs, or should I keep essentially the same kind of springs I have.

Mmmm, my guy tested some LS6 springs he had in house and said they only measured about 80-85lbs....

Mine are brand new take offs, never run.

If Shaolin can hook you up for a good price on a pair of 120lbers, it would be worth your time alone not have to swap them all out.

.551/.547 lift, 204/218 duration, 117.5 LSA and a 6500 rpm redline are the specs on a stocker Z06 cam. I cant think youd have any issues running Z06 springs.

also, stock LS6 springs run about 90lbs pressure closed, from what i have seen on the forums.
(all this assumes 02+ ls6 springs, 01s had a slightly smaller cam and slightly weaker springs, if they're yellow springs, they're 02+. 01 springs are blue. :D )

Do you have the retainers (the disc shaped piece for the top) for the z06 springs? The beehive ones should be different.
