Gearbox Failure - Parts Help

:bang:
The output shaft on my steering gearbox broke. Need to replace it. Anyone have hook-ups for new or used Ford F-250 parts? Salvage yards? The core is worthless, so Napa is charging me over $400 for a new gear box and the cost of the core...
Thanks for anyone's help!

I still have some connections in the retail auto parts biz, and at my local ford dealer. Ill check in with both of them, ill get back to you by the end of the day. Info on the truck? (Year/4x4 etc )

I believe it's an 02, 7.3L, 4x4, and it's a stick (can't remember if it's a 5 speed or a 6 speed?).

I do not think 6 speeds came out until the 6.0

Try All-Ford Auto Dismantl-ers or ing in Placentia on Orangethorpe, cool guys. I doubt they would charge you more than $100 for that.

Thanks for the help guys. Ended up replacing the steering gear box, pitman arm, and power steering pump.
Ford was the best price for the steering box, 4 West for the pitman arm, and Napa for the power steering pump. All for under $500, and quite a few hours and lots of beer....
Leedom: Yes, it's a 2002 with the ZF6 6 speed manual tranny. It was a custom ordered truck from the factory.

They're using the ZF6 in Ford trucks now? Those are OEM for the C4s.

You're right about the C4s.
Specifically, its a ZF S650. A unique feature of this unit is an internal oil pump driven off the front of the countershaft that circulates the lube to a trans cooler. The S650 is found behind diesel engines of 1998 and up Ford Super duty.
