Ouch Kevin, that sucks. I'm glad you're okay though. What happened exactly?

SeanPlunk 02-16-2009 02:10 PM

Oh, and who is doing your paint? I'm always keeping my ears open for good painters just in case.

You need some studded tires home slice. You can actually make them yourself using old tires and a lot of man hours. The ice bikes in the North do that. The guys say they have better traction on ice with those tires than they do on dirt with their dirt tires.

Snow tires are fine for putting through the snow. You need steel digging into the ice for traction there.

The tires look new too. I think if you hit black ice you're pretty much screwed no matter what :suicide:

I can only imagine trying to drive the Cobra in those conditions :leaving:

Nope. Studs will give you all the traction you need. How do you think cars get around fine in Scandinavia for more than half the year. They have off the shelf studded tires. I don't know about down here.

Here's a fellow having fun on snow/ice with studded tires:

I actually drove the Vette on a snow covered road that was just about all ice. It was like dirt tracking--only worst. I made it two miles without crashing.
