Santa Barbara is full of skinny liberals, LOL.

So, having never been to Santa Barbara I had no idea what to expect. I must say, it's the most liberal place I've ever been (I've never been to Berkeley). I saw more Obama and Coexist stickers in 2 days than I've seen in the rest of my life.

Even more interesting though is that fact that in 2 full days of going all over the city I literally saw less than a handful of overweight people. Saw what you will about hippy tree huggers, but one thing is for sure, they're more in shape than any other place I've ever been. I think this is attributable to the fact that everyone there seems to bike or walk all over the place. It just seemed like a very active community. I wish the rest of the country was more like this because I think health care costs would be a much smaller issue if that were the case

P.S. I could never live there - it's even a little too liberal for me (which is saying something).

Like Cartman, I've been fighting hippies since I was about three. :smack:

Santa Barbara and Berkley have the worst class of Hippie, the college know-it-all hippie. Santa Monica is primarily populated by old fashioned pot smoking anti-establishment hippies, who don't bother me much, in fact I'm even slightly sympathetic to some of their attitudes.

My son is in his Junior year at UC Santa Barbara and he is pretty far to the right on his political views. He says everybody in Santa Barbara are tree huggers.... He is always defending his Republican/conservative point of views from the Liberals. He has a 72 year old female professor who always bags on LAPD. :censored: This pisses my son off because I spent half my 27 year law enforcement career with LAPD. Thank God I retired in 2005.

LOL, I can imagine. It's very liberal. Bagging on the LAPD doesn't sound like something a professor should be doing to me...

She wasn't bagging, she was lecturing on authority structures.:judge:
