Blind Melon-Wishing well....www.myspace.com/blindmelon.

Good call on the Pearl Jam B.

Vicarious

Vicarious - Tool

I don't know how many times I've listened to this. It does get me pumped, I must admit. I should cut a video to it some day.

It actually offended my delicate sensibilities a little bit, but I needed to do it for the victory.

Death of Martian - Red Hot Chillipeppers

I love the line, "chase lizards, bark at donkeys".

SeanPlunk 03-27-2008 11:06 PM

I also have been listening to the newest John Mayer CD Continuum quite a bit. It's actually a pretty good disk across the board.

vonage6591 03-27-2008 11:14 PM

Kinda cool little site, don't know if you have heard of it but last.fm pretty cool place, logs all the music you listen to on your computer and stuff you've played on your MP3 player and loads it and shows it weekly and monthly and over all. Here's mine http://www.last.fm/user/vonage6591/ Also gives internet radio recommendations based off what you listen to

CorruptCulture 03-28-2008 11:26 PM

Rage Against The Machine - Know Your Enemy (Live at Brixton Academy May 23, 1993) Part of my extensive collection of their bootlegs.

www.withoutaface.ws

**Edit**

And I just realized that this version of Know Your Enemy has Maynard from Tool singing vocals on his respective part. :lhdevil:

Disk?? hahaha. wtf? John Mayer loves the cock that is a fact! There is no good rock music I swear to god...except fun tree . Anyone realize that all they play over and over on the radio is 90's stuff? I swear man it is so depressing.

That's a great piece . . . :sm_up_there:

Corelli Variations - Rachmaninov

Sometimes (often) rock just doesn't get it on the way the old timers did.

Vettezuki 04-04-2008 09:21 PM

The Serpentine Offering - Dimmu Borgir

For Satanists their choruses are surprisingly sensitive and melodic.

I've been listening to that song quite a bit as well - my brother is a talented dude.

No Doubt - It's My Life

One of the few remakes that's possibly better than the original. The video is rad.

Cositas Buenas - Paco de Lucia

Vettezuki 04-16-2008 11:44 PM

I'm gett'n kinda lonely in here, but fu*k it.

"The Chauffer" - Duran Duran

Rio is the first album I ever bought. I payed for it by mowing a lawn. I think it was like $7 (what I was paid for mowing the lawn) for a cassette in 1984+-. I remember getting a lesson from my friend's dad on negotiating. I shouldn't have just agreed to pay the asking price (because the seller, one of his sons, new what I had), should have offered $5. It's funny how these little things stick with you and can make serious differences over time.

Anyway, "The Chauffer" is one of my favorite songs from Duran Duran. Heck, the lyrics are even car related. Give it a listen some time.

I went to a Duran Duran release party for Rio. OK, "maybe" it was Rio, it was in 1981 or maybe 82. Ok, I'm not sure -but it was Duran Duran and it was an Album release party in the early 80's. The 80's is such a BLURR for me.

Yea, and it was in Hollywood at the Palace.

Vettezuki 04-19-2008 01:47 AM

I just started a Rhapsody subscription. Currently I'm reliving my early music memories and discovering some new stuff. I always wanted to listen to more Kraftwerk and now I'm doing it. It's a bit different than I imagined, and frankly a bit better. I'm now listening to:

Sex Object - Kraftwerk

You know, I've never been to the Palace. Rumor has it that it's but merely a former shadow of itself (i.e., it kinda sucks now).

Haven't been there since. I did hear the same thing years ago.:(

"Diary of a Madman" - Ozzy

Randy Rhoads
was one of the great guitar players of Rock history.

We should be so fortunate as to have one hit in us.

Roxanne - The Police

vonage6591 04-26-2008 01:32 AM

It would sure be nice. Amazing how so many bands can continue to put hits together.

We're Already There - The Wallflowers

vonage6591 04-26-2008 01:44 AM

I would kill to be able to write songs, it's amazing how they just seem to come together.

Mmm, my guess is the number of bands who string hits to gether vs. one-hit-wonders is pretty small.

Vokuro - Bjork

I will cut a Vette video to this some day. But I need to look deep inside.

Vettezuki 04-26-2008 01:54 AM

Vokuro

It was/is my hope that people give a little back story to what their listening to on occasion. That's what's interesting as much as anything.

Vokuro - Bjork

I don't know how many times I've listened to this piece. It is from her album "Medulla". Side note: How many commercially successful artists can you think of who make an entire album derived from vocal sounds? You may or may not dig what she's doing, but she fearlessly swings for the fences again and again. A true and rare artist who puts vision before all else.

Even many supposedly super star songs are pretty dismal in my opinion. I guess it should makes us appreciate how great good lyrics are. Think of Billy Joel's Piano Man, or <fill in the blank>. Sadly we are often only presented with the great successes of people, and rarely see just how much work (and in many cases neurosis) goes on behind the scenes.

"You Know I'm No Good" - Amy Winehouse

Seems like a nice girl.

vonage6591 05-01-2008 05:02 PM

Eh i guess thats what 6 times in rehab gets you. Saw pictures of her drinking shots with her 1 year old in her arms.
