Driving Routes
So it occurs to me, there aren't soooo many fun driving routes easily/quickly accessible from Orange County . . . at least not so well known ones. This thread is for compiling routes. A fun driving route is something other than just a straight city road that stops a lot. :bang: So for me, from Fullerton here's a route that would take a couple hours total and go through several canyons and a patch of PCH. Fun parts marked in Red.
5 South 55 South PCH South Laguna Canyon 133 North 241 South (The last parts of the 133 and the 241 are toll roads.) Here's the part where I have to check a map. There is a way to get in through Rancho Santa Margarita to the back side of: Santiago Canyon Road This comes out to Katella. Katella 57 North Imperial East Carbon Canyon 71 North 60 East 57 South Brea Canyon Brea Blvd. back into Fullerton. |

Nice Drives in OC
There are alot of really nice drives in OC...
My personal favorites PCH - Pacific Coast Highway HWY 74 - From San Juan Capistrano to Riverside Has several nice overlooks of the entirty of lake elsinor HWY 2 - Through Wrightwood and Mountain High over to Palmdale HWY 38 and 18 - Through Big Bear and Arrowhead Lakes, Very Very nice in the Springtime. Lots of twisties. Take I-10 out to Redlands, and get on HWY 38 and follow up the offical "Scenic Biway" through Big Bear Lake, or take the HWY 18 to circle the lake. Nice Drive. Just watch for the Troopers in the reduced speed zones of Big Bear. They will often pull you over just for having too laud exhaust so that they can can check to see what else they can give you a ticket for. Beware the 35 MPH zones, you will want to speed because the street is absurdly wide, but it's not worth it. Anywayz. Hope my ideas have helped. See you out there! :sm_laughing: |
There's some almost abandoned mountain road not too far from here, it was replaced by a larger less twisty road. Ricers meet up there and race every weekend, my friend wrecked his Miata there. I'll have to ask him where it was, I dozed off in the car, don't remember.
