Mass armed robbery (taxes) are hard to raise a lot all at once and not that effective when nobody is making any money. Individual armed robbery, which happens a lot when we get pulled over for BS, doesn't require voter approval, backlash is less likely since it is a bureaucratic, not legislative function, and is one off cases, therefore much harder to resist effectively.

And no BS, driving home tonight from a gig on Beach Blvd to Fullerton in about 12 miles I saw three (3) people pulled over.

Beach Blvd is a cop hot spot and I avoid it at all costs.

Same thing on Bolsa Chica there was two cops on each side on the street pulling people over

A cop friend told me that when they were told that Calif. was doubling fines this year,
they all thought it was crazy because they felt like they aren't there to help people but to generate income for the state

I think speeding tickets are a joke on the highway. Also, I think that our courts are a bit too strict. I got a speeding ticket on the way to Mammoth a couple of years ago and when the officer told me my speed I called BS because I had just got my license back (got it suspended for going 120+ at 3am on the 405, CHP got 1st, I got second and the mustang who got pulled over with me got 3rd) and I set the cruise control because my insurance was already ridiculous and I couldn't afford another ticket. None the less he gave me the ticket and on our way home a friend was following me and told me to slow down. Once again I had my cruise set and it turns out the speedo in the car was off. I borrowed the car, because it had 4wheel drive, from a friend who had just bought the car. I got all the paperwork from the mechanic proving it was not intentional and that I was driving as carefully as possible..... GUILTY. I think that is ridiculous imo. $300 dollar ticket.

Eek. Never knew parking in a handicapped spot was so expensive. Twice as expensive as running a red, second offense is 4 times as expensive as running a red.

Not that I've done it, but shit. :surrender:
