Hood modification

Ug, my Procharger pulley grinded a hole in my hood. I dropped the motor on the drivers side a 1/2" to make it fit, and it was tight, but I thought it was ok. Guess it was too tight.

Plus, with the intercooler the low profile bonnet hits the hood. It was fine when it pointed down towards the drivers side, but now that it points to the passenger side it hits the hood.

I'm thinking about putting a triangle 'turbo scoop' over the Procharger, and bonding in a bigger cowl. Or maybe just lifting my cowl.

I wonder about doing a hood mod some day for a little cooler engine compartment temps and maybe a tiny bit better aero.

Can you get away with just a bigger cowl? The turbo scoop is a little dated IMO. How about shorting the rear axle and tubbing your rear fenders so you can fit some sticky rubber and stop bench racing?

J/K!

Lol, Ive got 275s right now. I should be able to squeeze some sticky 295-19s under there as soon as I get some fucking employment! Ha. I think it'll hook with some drag 295s.

Ya, I could do without the turbo scoop. But the Procharger is at the edge of the hood, so to the side of the cowl. If all I needed was a bigger cowl Id just chop and weld my bonnet till it fit.

You dont still have those old 19" drag tires do you? I thought I remembered you saying something about that.

I have a lot of 19" rubber ranging from 265 to 315. None of the 19's are drag radials though. Last I checked (two years ago) no one made 19" dr. They had 18's and when the GTR came out they made 20", but no love for corvette.

I did get a set of 18" dr that I am keeping for when the current mods get done.

Well if you ever feel like disposing of some 19" sticky rubber, or selling it cheap, let me know. I dont care if its drag radial, just want something stickier than my 420 tread-wear Nittos

Im surprised no 19s since thats a typical Ferrari size. I thought Yokohama made some

Plenty of sticky tires just no drag specific tire. I will pm you with some sizes and we will work out a deal.
