joedls done blowed up

[EDIT: Vettezuki] This bunch of posts was moved from the ACH cruise thread.

I was actually thinking of making this one, but then this happened:

The Dart block is a pushrod block. Going in the 68. Not sure whether I'll put a forged shortblock in or just replace it with a stock one and sell it.

This is how I treat friends. How I treat enemies gets kind of disturbing. . .:pot_stir:

I thought you had an all forged shortblock for the sd197 too. Guess I remember wrong. If you did sell, how much like it is?

I did. Like a dumbass, I sold it about 3 months ago along with a twin turbo kit.

I don't know, but I probably wouldn't sell it the way it sits. People would expect too much of a discount.

Shaolin Crane 06-06-2013 02:55 PM

Does it still have the blower on it? I do miss the ex's s197 and was thinking about getting another. Would be prime time for some h beam rods stuffed in a teksid block.

Yeah, it still has the Roushcharger.

enkeivette 06-07-2013 05:08 PM

Damn, sorry man, that blows. Can you reuse most of the internals in a new block? Have you taken it apart yet? What were you doing btw?

I won't be re-using any if the internals. I just have to decide whether to go forged and keep it or go stock and sell it.

I was fucking around. Missed a shift, bounced it off the rev limiter (which I had set too high). Then did another pull and I think I was slow when I speed-shifted. I'm sure I hit the rev limiter again. As soon as I shifted, it popped.

Shaolin Crane 06-07-2013 06:23 PM

Probably lost a rod, which means the crank is trashed. Those 3v rods are an engineering marvel

I'm sure that's what happened. I abused it one too many times.

BADDASSC6 06-08-2013 07:12 AM

Man I'm super sorry to hear about your motor. That sound shitty. I would fix it and keep it too many memories of kicking ass.

A new 5.0 sounds kinda good right now.

BADDASSC6 06-08-2013 12:09 PM

I'm still a LS guy, but the 5.0 is awesome. Guys are getting mid 400's on GTs with bolt-on parts. Can't really complain a out run ing 11's N/A on the cheap.

enkeivette 06-08-2013 02:16 PM

Is there a lot done to your car aside from engine upgrades? If not, it might make the most sense to drop an ebay motor in there, sell it, and go with a new 5.0 Mustang.

How did you like the TrueTrac? That is what I was planning on putting in the Mach.

No problems with the TrueTrac. Worked just like it was supposed to.

Oh shit, well if you can find a donor, shouldnt be too difficult to get it to smog as a newer Mustang

Shaolin Crane 06-10-2013 01:34 AM

All those parts should fit on a new 5.0...

Thats interesting, and you could probably trade off with the stock parts on a 5.0. Either way would work.

enkeivette 06-10-2013 09:46 AM

But ya, those new GT engines are fast as fuck. Ive driven one. I cant believe stock cars are getting as fast as they are. Its making life more difficult for anyone with a 5+ year old tuner car.

joedls 06-10-2013 10:50 AM

Right now, I'm leaning towards getting a built shortblock and keeping the car. It's a 2007 GT/CS, the first year Ford made a GT/CS since 1968. I like the idea of having a 68 and an 07.

I've been eyeing it for a while

enkeivette 06-28-2013 12:16 AM

Sound fishy. He only had 7 pistons and rods in a box that could easily hold 8... Ill bet he blew one up.

Motor ate oil too. Id buy it with a condition in the sale that you have 30 days to have a shop pressure test it or sonic test or whatever.

joedls 06-28-2013 08:29 AM

Thanks, but I got something brewing.

So you're just going to tease us with pictures and no info?

Looks great. Is is a 3v 5.0 striker? What are the build plans?
