Gonna have a new co-pilot.

The Motorgen Family will be growing! Shannon and I are expecting a little one late April next year. I am of course hoping for a son to help turn wrenches with but hey, if I can get a girl to turn out like Ron's girls I will have a daughter to turn wrenches with. Can't wait!

Shaolin Crane 10-15-2012 12:43 AM

Thanks guys. I am really excited and terrified at the same time. Need a job to elevate some of that concern, but it will happen.

Congrats!! Better get as much sleep as you can now, because it will be scarce once the little one comes.

Redondo Jon 10-16-2012 11:34 PM

I tell my wife the same thing: If we ever have kids I don’t care if it’s a boy or a girl, they’re helping me in the garage. Well done you guys. :)

mustangray 10-17-2012 08:51 AM

Congrat's Sir !!

Leedom 10-17-2012 11:14 AM

Had an ultrasound this morning and the nurse said 70% chance it is a boy!!! Everything else is looking good as well. Shannon is "baking" him well. We are still in disbelief he is in there. It is so crazy!

Vettezuki 10-17-2012 11:22 AM

It's just staggering the complexity of what's going on.

Shaolin Crane 10-17-2012 03:08 PM

Man. I'm freaking out just thinking about babies. Can only imagine how you feel.

SSeater 10-17-2012 03:23 PM

Congrats, man! There is no feeling in the world like holding your child for the first time. You are in for an incredibly happy experience you'll remember the rest of your days!

It is crazy to think of how things evolved and the right moons/planets aligned themselves for us to start from one cell and evolve into a small child.

Chuck 10-18-2012 05:05 AM

Congrats buddy I wish you luck. Crazy!

I had to settle naming my boy Collin Wade since that middle name has been passed to the first born for a long time in the family. I wanted to name him Gunner since I'm German and it would sound badass... but alas, vagina won out over cool name hence we threw down with scottish name since that's most of my other half of the gene pool

Leedom 12-06-2012 03:26 PM

We have confirmation!! The tech and the doctor found from multiple angles his dangles. His size is 2 weeks ahead of his actually development age so he may be huge. Shannon and I were both over 9 1/2 lbs. Totally excited!!!

My father's younger brother's name was Gunner. He died when my dad was a teenager and I told him years ago I would have that as my boys middle name but now that we are there we are using my dad's middle name instead.

Shannon's first choice is Bode (like the US downhill skier, Bode Miller) but my #1 now is Chase and I am winning.

When Amy was pregnant with Kylie I had a dream about her and in my dream her name was Kylie. This was before we knew that she was a girl. That's also how we named Mya but the dream came later and we already knew she was a girl. If we had a boy Amy already had the name picked out.

Dang, sorry bout that.

Though I do like the downhill skier name since I love skiing almost as much as cars.

Introducing Chase Edvins Tomps, born April 24th, weighing in at 7 lbs and 13 oz and measuring 20 inches in length. We are so excited to be be parents to this perfect little guy!!

I want to the world to know how AWESOME Shannon was yesterday. She tried to deliver our bundle of joy yesterday by pushing like champ for over 2 hours before we came to the decision that a c-section was needed. What an exhausting and amazing event yesterday was. So proud of my wife and of my son.
